From Abandoned Shell to Fully Customized Home in Southwest Florida

This custom home in Fort Myers, FL sat unfinished for more than two years, left as a shell from the previous builder. When we were brought in, the goal wasn’t simply to finish construction; it was to give the homeowners clarity, choices, and a finished home they could be proud of.

After evaluating the existing structure and identifying what needed to be repaired, our team took full control of the project and created a clear, realistic plan. In less than six months, the home was completed from shell to move-in ready.

Unlike the previous builder, we walked the homeowners through every major design and finish decision, giving them options that allowed the home to reflect their style and priorities. Throughout the process, they were able to personally select:

  • Tile selections throughout the home
  • Luxury vinyl plank (LVP) flooring
  • Mantra cabinets in Admiral, Hammock, and Beechwood
  • Personalized paint colors from Sherwin-Williams
  • Plumbing and electrical fixtures
  • An upgraded quartz countertop

These upgrades and finish selections elevated the home well beyond what was originally planned and allowed the homeowners to move into a home that they didn’t need to personalize later.

At the final walkthrough, the homeowners were so happy with both the result and the experience that they asked to take a photo with Jacob; a moment that captured the relief and excitement of finally seeing their home completed.

This project is a perfect example of how a stalled or abandoned construction project in Southwest Florida can be successfully taken over and completed, with better communication, better options, and better results.
